jazmine was thirteen on k-day and at her friend's house. since then, her life has more or less been defined by the kaiju, whether she liked it or not, a game of survival from attacks and the poverty that lines the pacific rim cities. she was sixteen when mom was sick with cancer but raleigh and yancy still went off to kodiak and dad left around the same time too. mom died and the last time she saw her brothers was at the funeral when she told raleigh to shut the fuck up and told yancy to go to hell. jazmine moved in with her high school boyfriend for a couple of years. that ended when she caught him cheating on her. yancy died a year after that and she read about it in the paper. didn't know what happens to raleigh after that until five years later when he shows up on tv and he's the hero that saved the world
mini personality.
jazmine is understandably jaded and wary about a lot of things. she's been more or less on her own for most of her adult life, but she doesn't consider herself a victim. not a saint either but realistic about what life is really like. she was old enough at k-day to have memories of a happy childhood and yet young enough to know nothing but the kaiju war.
she loves coffee and taylor swift and daydreams about a normal life.
she doesn't believe in the jaegers anymore and doesn't have the money to move inland not that she thinks she would. she loves alaska, loves orcas, and thinks that if there weren't any kaiju, she would have gone to Massachusetts for college and never come back.
she doesn't have time for bullshit, can throw a punch just as good as either of her brothers, tends to overthink something, makes rash decisions and is bad at apologizing, is lonely and doesn't know how to rely on someone.
